Thrillers and Adventure Fiction: Why Soldier Spy Stories?

Have you ever really suffered? Maybe exertion, starvation, exhaustion ect. — please consider all the classics. Do we ever wonder how pain and adversity can shape character? As a Physical Therapist it’s sort of my job to watch people suffer, just as much as it is my job to see them overcome the odds.

So people end up in really bad situations, that’s a fact. But with resilience and grit they can see their way free. What makes something a thriller is that some adversity has set a character on a path to overcome. As a Physical Therapist I’ve seen first hand most of what human nature might offer up during times like those – and whatever comes up, it’s my job to channel that energy towards a positive goal.

I came up with the idea for Covert Existence’s unique soldier spy blend, through a very honest desire. I wanted to show humanity in its hardest times, and how life can wear us down, but – and I do have a big but 😉 … I also wanted to reveal the sort of redemptive power that resides in the background during all such trials.

It isn’t the struggles that are beautiful, it is the resilience that leads to redemption.
