About

The Genesis of an Author

I was a small baby but cute enough, I think. I had all my toes and fingers and I stayed that way until my family moved from Calgary to St. Albert, Alberta. It would please my mother greatly to hear me declare  that I grew up happy, and kept all of my fingers and toes until I graduated from the University of Alberta as a Physical Therapist.

My buddy Todd drew me south to Florida where I caught my first wave and came to know a whole pile of good people and gators – still having all my fingers and toes. Then life and a career of working with elite athletes brought me to British Columbia where I raised two boys with forty digits between the both of them.

They were adventurous and athletic, just as I prefer to think of myself, but they eventually became stronger than me – I know, right? How did that happen? They’re not quite tougher yet though, due to a base consisting of years of forced training in combatives. As time passes however, I seem to become progressively lessor, and they will invariably become greater. But I still hope to die in battle, perhaps against ten men with only two of us left standing when we deliver simultaneous killing blows – (but he falls first).

Here is a list, because lazy people like lists:

  • Ideas are sustenance.
  • Sustenance is fuel
  • Fuel makes fire
  • Fire creates ignition
  • Ignition becomes impact

Hah! Take that lazy people – I made you think. Aren’t words awesome?

Here’s a quote from the author (off to the right):

“The most wonderful places that I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing, are inside my own mind.”

Deep, right?

I thought so … but it’s amazing how many ladies a guy can run into that seem to feel as though comments like that trend towards the somewhat pathetic. But if they could see what’s in my mind, maybe they would understand? But no. I had to resign myself long ago to the cold fact that like some other guys, women were just not going to relate to me for what’s in my mind – kind of like Keanu and Brad.

Oh well, you know what they say. If you can’t make any real friends you just might have to create them. So here’s another block quote from the author for you to ponder.

“The deepest people that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing exist in jet black ink, stamped onto crisp white pages.”

Some of you might understand, but not too many. So if you want to meet a few of those people — I’ve written fifteen books to introduce you, and I plan to release those books over time. If you still want to know me better than you do now that you’ve reached the bottom of my About the Author page, I would suggest that you might check out my blog – although, it’s a little unplugged for some people’s tastes.

Hope to meet you all someday …
